2015 was the biggest year yet for the BMW GS Trophy, with more countries than ever before involved. Of all the qualifier events held, no single country held an event larger than the UK GS Trophy Qualifier, with 221 riders taking on the challenges around South Wales. The GS Trophy International Final was held in Thailand and out of the 18 teams present, the UK team of James Berrill, Oliver Twigg, Gordon Blackley and Michael Guy did us proud, bringing home second place overall, tied with the German team.
In theory, we should now have a 12-month wait for our next taste of GS Trophy action, in the form of the 2017 UK Qualifier event. But after the fun we had at the 2015 qualifier, thereâs no way weâll be waiting that long. So, with the support of BMW Motorrad UK we give you the GS Challenge 2016. Yes, the GS Challenge; exactly like the GS Trophy, but instead of competing for a place at the International Final, the top competitors will win a place on an epic adventure riding holiday with Off Road Skills.
So whether youâre looking for a couple of days of fun riding or you fancy winning an epic riding holiday, get yourself booked on and do May bank holiday properly. Two days of riding bikes, amazing roads, fun challenges and good times â thatâs how a bank holiday should be done. Booking is now open, so get your name down and come have some fun.
