Not a training day, and not a hardcore dirt experience, the BMW R12 G/S Ride Day is a relaxed one-day ride experience created around the hugely versatile BMW R12 G/S. With bucket loads of beautiful Welsh roads, winding lanes, good company and top-tier café stops, there’s just enough gentle off-road to remind you what these amazing bikes were built for.
The BMW R12 G/S Ride Day is designed for riders who want to enjoy the bike in a softer, more accessible way. A relaxed day out from Off Road Skills HQ, taking in the kind of local roads and lanes our team ride when they have a day off.
The aim is simple: to enjoy a great day on the bike and prove that adventure riding does not always need to be technical, intense or difficult to be unforgettable.

For riders who want to experience the character of the R12 G/S without the pressure of a full training course. Riders who want to ride with the Off Road Skills team, explore some of our favourite local roads, and enjoy a small amount of easy gravel roads in a calm, confidence-friendly way.
It’s about the buzz of riding. Not pushing beyond your limits. Just a great day out on a R12 G/S.
THE EXPERIENCE
You’ll head out from Off Road Skills HQ and be guided along a carefully planned route through the roads, lanes and landscapes we know best.
The one-day ride is predominantly road-based so you can expect flowing tarmac, quiet country lanes, scenic countryside and beautiful Welsh views, with a small amount of easy off-road included to add variety, fun and a sense of adventure.
The exact route may vary from event to event, giving us the flexibility to choose the best roads, lanes and conditions on the day. It’s all about a relaxed pace, enjoying a great motorcycle, sampling some terrific food, and enjoying day-long beautiful surroundings.
THE ROUTE
Leaving our base in South Wales, the day will take in a mix of local roads, quiet lanes and scenic sections trails chosen by the Off Road Skills team.

· A small amount of easy off-road (opt out available)

The off-road sections are deliberately easy. They are there to add to the experience, not dominate it. This is not a technical off-road course and it is not designed to test riders in difficult terrain. Most of the day will be spent on road. And anyone not wanting to ride off road can easily opt out.
