My teeth hurt because of gritting and my mouth hurts because of smiling. So much thanks for a great two days!

This course exceeded my expectations beyond measure. You guys don't need my advise, this is a fantastic course, brilliantly run and a beautiful place.

This is my second time on the course and once again it was brilliant. Nick and Rob were really informative, helpful and patient. I am quite easily freaked out and they were very kind and encouraging. Seeing I was a panicker, they got me through much more than I would have thought and although I fell off just as much, I enjoyed the course more!

The syllabus and the amount of time actually riding the bike was very good. I was concerned that I may not be up to the rest of the groups standard but Zippy never seemed to loose faith. I will recommend this course to one and all.

The all women concept is ideal! The course more than met my expectations – and they were quite high to start with. You have a great team, great instruction and a great course!!!

The course exceeded my expectations. Tiny steps were taken to achieve excellent goals! I was apprehensive about the second day, but it was even more enjoyable than the first. The length and pace of the course was excllent. Just look at what I achieved! Many thanks to everyone!

This is an absolutely superb course! The most fulfilling and exciting activity I've discovered since riding bikes in the first place.

The BMW Off Road Skills course is one of only two courses I have attended over the years where no notes are taken, no death by Power Point, all demonstration by international quality training instructors who get it right first time. If you like, it is a two-day apprenticeship with the ratio of one instructor to five or six students. My course had 23 students, staff running the course were seven with backup both mechanical and sustenance (food and drink). Attention to detail is excellent!

The training area is a few miles away from their depot. It consists of a 4,000-acre reclaimed open coal mining area 50% is forested with numerous climbs, slight to severe, which gives all students the flexibility to learn. The syllabus is briefly, Basic Control, Turning, Braking, Downhilll and more all over two days.

All 23 bikes stayed in gear ALL of the time. Riding safety is a big part of the course. Your choice of bike - F650 GS, XChallenge or R1200 GS.

Students came from Sweden, Borders, High Peak, Notts/Derby, London, Cornwall and all felt it was a great course and many said they would do it again. I certainly will do it again. Age range was 30ish to 60 years (me). A Level One course does not mean a basic course, but one that you can attend several times and because all students are initially grouped on their general riding experience, no one is held up. Students are continually assessed and the instructors are very flexible to ensure that you learn as much as possible. It is not a 'tick the box' course - just one where the student can achieve.

I recommend this course to anyone including ladies. And the second course I attended, where no notes were given or taken was a Military Parachute Course at the RAF's No. 1 Parachute Training School.

Simon,

My wife and our other colleague who came with us would just like to thank you and your dear wife for a fantastic weekend we had on 15-16 April.

Your event and organisation of the whole weekend was excellent and very professional while remaining extremely great fun.

My wife, who is new to motorbiking, has gained so much confidence since undertaking the course - well worth it. She asked me to pass on her many thanks to Linley for making her feel so welcome.

We will be back for Level Two.

Thanks again,

Simon,

I have seldom, if ever, enjoyed and benefited from training as much as I did last week on the Off Road Skills course. If at the end of the two days I wasn't entirely satisfied with my own performance, and I wasn't, then that was down to me. What is certain through is that I have come away with increased confidence in my slow speed riding, which is what I wanted, and with a better understanding of how much more there is to do and what to work at.

I plan to come back fitter and with better basics in place next year and to repeat the course. But in the meantime please pass on my thanks to your Off Road Skills team for their extraordinary teaching and for their high expectations.

I won't go on but thanks are due to you all for your consistently friendly and incredibly expert support throughout.

Many thanks again,

Bill Ford - May 2007

Hi Simon,

I just wanted to send a quick note to thank you and your team for an excellent two days training.

Everything was just right, the balance of time spent between training and trail riding, the relaxed buy controlled style of you and your instructors, the one-to-one help when required, the overall organisation and the quality of the bikes. I thoroughly enjoyed my two days with you guys and look forward to the Brecon Day on 12 June.

Pass my thanks onto my instructors. Best regards,

Chris Rason - May 2007

Simon and the Off Road Skills team,

Just a quick note to say thank you so much for an excellent weekend. It was tremendous fun and I feel like my biking skills have certainly come on a long way. I also thought the level of instruction to trail riding was just right. Now all I have to do is persuade my wife to let me back for Level Two.

I hope you have a good year.

Best wishes,

Hi Off Road Skills,

Thanks again for a brilliant weekend. I learned loads and still have a bit to go before I try Level Two, so I'm going to book Level One again later in the year.
