Pavey stars at BMW Motorsport evening - 10 July 2007

Six times Dakar rally competitor and BMW Off-Road Skills chief instructor Simon Pavey was the star of BMW Motorrad at the recent BMW Motorsport evening held at head office in Bracknell last week.

Simon joined the likes of the legendary John Surtees, who is the only man to have won World Championships on two and four wheels. Surtees won seven motorcycle World Championships and one Formula One world drivers' title.

Sixteen-year-son of John, Henry Surtees was also present at the BMW Motorsport event. Henry is racing in the 2007 Formula BMW Championship and was the winner of this year’s Formula BMW Scholarship.

Other famous faces at the BMW Motorsport evening included Formula One and IndyCar World Series Champion Nigel Mansell, World Touring Car Championship driver Andy Priaulx and the renowned sports commentator Murray Walker.

The evening was a special event for the staff of BMW to get close to some of the famous names that have has a strong association with the BMW brand for many years.
